FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue Interact kicked off its 2026 –27 service year by volunteering at the Mt. Blue High School Homecoming event in Farmington.
Mt. Blue Homecoming morning. Submitted photo.
Interact students spent the afternoon face painting for children and selling bottled water, helping families enjoy the festivities while putting their commitment to service into action. Students enjoyed getting creative with their face painting designs and connecting with younger members of the community.
The Homecoming event was a fun way for Mt. Blue Interact to begin a new year of service, leadership, and community involvement. The group is already looking ahead to its next service projects, including the Purple Pinkie Project with the Farmington Rotary Club, supporting Rotary’s PolioPlus mission to help eradicate polio worldwide.
Students will also volunteer at the Trunk or Treat on October 23 from 4:30–6:00 p.m. at the University of Maine at Farmington’s High Street parking lot, continuing to build connections with local children and families.
Mt. Blue Interact looks forward to another year of making a difference in the Mt. Blue community and beyond.

October is the beginning of our push to raise money to end Polio. We will be doing weekly auctions to help raise money for Polio. If you have any items you would like to donate for the weekly auctions, please let me know or simply bring them to the meeting.
